Kids-Lift Provides 50 Thanksgiving Meals to Families in Need

Charlottesville non-profit Kids-Lift brought 50 Thanksgiving meals to families in need this November, expanding from the 25 that it provided in 2020. Many of us fortunately spend our Thanksgiving holiday with family, friends, and community members while taking time to acknowledge everything we are grateful for and eating a full holiday meal together. Kids-Lift recognizes that not all families in our community have the ability to eat these traditional Thanksgiving meals together, and that this issue has been exacerbated by the continuing effects of the coronavirus pandemic. To assist the Charlottesville community in enjoying their holidays, rather than stressing about providing food for their families, Kids-Lift continued its efforts from previous years in providing Thanksgiving meals to those who need them.

“This year our communities can clearly see the continued economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic,” said Brandon Boccher, a representative and employee of Kids-Lift. “We wanted to step in once again to help alleviate some of the stress that these families and children are experiencing,” explained Boccher.

Albemarle County, Kids-Lift, and Premium Service Brands staff created dinner boxes that were filled with turkey, ham, stuffing, potatoes, green beans, corn, butter, pie, gravy, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, whipped cream, and milk. It is the hope of all involved that these dinners helped families in the Charlottesville community celebrate their Thanksgiving holiday with more food and joy. Kids-Lift is devoted to helping children expand their capacity for growth and learning. We are incredibly grateful for all those that played a part in making this happen.

Lastly, we are so excited to end the year by running nine successful Virtual Food Drives, and we look forward to starting off 2022 with new campaigns and projects to help support kids around the country!
